Soraga

Welcome to Soraga - one of the oldest settlements in Val di Fassa, Soraga is ideal for families!

In Ladin, ‘sorega’, from the Latin ‘super aqua’ (=‘above the water’), clearly defines the location of the village in relation to the river Avisio. The village lies on the slopes of the Valaccia peak and is dominated by the Rosengarten group with the Rotwand. Soraga is a true artist's workshop, where sculptors and carvers immortalise the emotions of the Dolomites in wood.
This village, characteristic of the Valle di Fassa, cultivates the cult of peace and relaxation and offers its increasingly numerous followers the prospect of easy walks to explore its artisan shops and rural neighbourhoods, thrilling mountain bike tours on the cycle path between Moena and Canazei, and a large playground where children can let off steam in complete freedom and safety.
Soraga is considered one of the oldest settlements in Val di Fassa, which over the years has managed to grow, embellish and modernise while maintaining its Ladin characteristics.
For centuries, the village was a border area between the prince-bishoprics of Trento and Bressanone; with the exception of Moena, the entire Val di Fassa belonged to the latter.
