St. Josef (Weststeiermark)

Located approximately 25 km from Graz, you can reach the municipality of St. Josef – the theatre village of St. Josef – via the A2 southern motorway, Lieboch exit, or with the GKB railway line, Oisnitz-St. Josef stop.

Despite its proximity to the provincial capital of Graz, St. Josef (population over 1,600) has retained its tranquillity and authenticity due to its location away from the main traffic routes, offering guests a pleasant stay.

Its positioning as a "theatre village" has given a boost to tourism over the last ten years. For example, the "Theatre Trail", which is unique in Austria, invites visitors to actively participate in theatre at 18 stations, from playful physical experiences to mature role-playing. In addition to the "adventurous" Theatre Trail, there are two other picturesque circular hiking trails (5 and 8 km). The well-marked routes through the charming natural landscape around the theatre village of St. Josef are ideal for relaxation and enjoyment.

The local restaurants along the trails offer a variety of regional specialities.

Places of interest include the Roman Catholic parish church and Rohrbach Castle. Every summer, there are performances by the "Theatre on the Farm".
