Dobl-Zwaring

Dobl-Zwaring, a predominantly rural municipality, has been successfully endeavouring for several years to attract commercial enterprises to the area. To this end, land has been designated in the local development plan along the L 304 road, directly at the Lieboch (Möbl-Lutz) motorway exit, for an industrial and commercial zone.

Some farmers in Dobl also sell their high-quality produce directly from their farms.

Dobl-Zwaring is known as a local recreation area for the surrounding population, but particularly for the people of Graz. The many hiking and cycling trails offer relaxation and respite from the stresses of everyday life.

Zwaring - Pöls comprises the districts of Fading, Dietersdorf, Zwaring, Steindorf, Pöls, Wuschan and Lamberg. The River Kainach flows through the town.

This unspoilt, rural community boasts a number of listed buildings and places of interest, as well as modern, health-oriented attractions.

Pöls is home to Pöls Castle, whose history dates back to the 12th century.

The “Heilige Rinn’” spring, located in a wooded area in the south of the municipality, is said to have healing properties.

Numerous wine taverns and inns offer culinary delicacies from the region, which are characterised above all by local pumpkin produce. With Herzog Bräu, there is even a local brewery in Steindorf, which produces up to 400 litres of exquisite ‘hop juice’ per day in a medium-sized facility.

Three extensive hiking trails, as well as a Kneipp trail with meditative power stations, invite you to enjoy a relaxing experience for body and mind. The starting point of the Kneipp circular trail is at the sports ground in Zwaring.

The Zwaring Model Flying Club has its model airfield south of Graz in Zwaring. This is suitable for all types of model flying (powered flight, electric flight, gliders, helicopters, etc.).

The Kainachtal Riding and Driving Club is based at the Pichler Riding Centre in Wuschan, in the municipality of Zwaring-Pöls. Here, the owners organise an annual regional trail ride with participants from all over Styria, as well as courses and events covering all areas of equestrian sport.

The local sports facilities include a football pitch, two tennis courts, a beach volleyball court and a children’s playground.
