Situated at an altitude of 1750 m, Bessans is a traditional village, typical of Haute Maurienne Vanoise, on the edge of the Vanoise National Park and Italy.

This authentic, family-friendly village perpetuates its traditions through nature in its wild state, religious festivities (the costume festival on 15 August) and sculpture.

Bessans boasts a rich cultural heritage with its hamlets, mountain pasture houses, engraved stones and religious buildings, including the chapel of Saint-Antoine and its famous frescoes.
