Heiligenblut, an Austrian rural commune in Mölltal at the southern end of the Grossglockner High Alpine Road in Kärnten. This mountain village at a height of almost 1300 metres is a much-frequented summer and winter resort and a popular touring ground for motorcyclists. The first documented reference to it originates in the year 1465. The emblem of the village is the striking High Altar of 1520.in the late gothic style. A little bottle is preserved here in a decorative sacramental niche which is supposed to contain the blood of Christ.
