Just seven to ten minutes by cable car separate the car-free resorts from the valley below: Whether from Mörel, Betten Talstation, or Fiesch – here, at the UNESCO World Heritage site Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, the true winter escape begins. Stress and everyday life stay down below. Up here, it’s all about relaxation, recreation, enjoyment, and activity.

On a sunny winter terrace 1,925 to 2,222 meters above the Rhone Valley, winter is still genuine. From December to the end of April, snow sports enthusiasts enjoy guaranteed snow. Riederalp, Bettmeralp, and Fiescheralp are connected by 104 perfectly groomed kilometers of slopes – from gentle beginner hills to snow parks, halfpipes, and challenging freeride routes. And the best part: no more skiing queues. In the Aletsch Arena, you go straight from your doorstep onto the slopes.

Leisure winter guests are equally welcome: 75 kilometers of well-marked winter hiking trails invite you to linger. On the three-kilometer snowshoe trail between Bettmeralp and Riederalp, the pristine winter landscape can be experienced most intensely. Cross-country skiers carve their tracks around Bettmersee or on the Riederalp golf course trail, ice skaters glide on Bettmeralp’s natural ice rink. And for those craving adrenaline, the 11-kilometer sled run from Fiescheralp down to Lax awaits.
