Shopping & Culture
More than 150 shops are within walking distance, inviting you to stroll and explore. For a quick break, there are plenty of inviting cafés serving up fragrant cappuccino and warm apple strudel. But Telfs has also long made a name for itself as a cultural centre. Every summer, the Tyrolean Folk Theatre Festival transforms the market town into a huge theatre village, offering visitors the chance to meet stars of the German-speaking stage. The imposing open-air dome of the Telfs Sports Centre has not only shaped the townscape of the municipality for years. In addition to international competitions, popular sports and trade fairs, concerts by well-known performers from the world of Schlager and pop music also take place here.

Telfs Schleicherlaufen
One of the largest and most traditional carnival customs in the Alpine region is the Telfs Schleicherlaufen. Every five years, this spectacle – which is listed as part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage – captivates more than 20,000 visitors. The magnificent masks and costumes will next be on display in 2030. In the meantime, those interested can find fascinating background information at the Carnival and Local History Museum.
