Seengen

The community of Seengen is located at the northern end of Lake Hallwil, in a beautiful and partly protected landscape and was first mentioned in a document in 893 as ‘Seynga’.

The Seetal valley is also known as the visiting parlour of the Aargau. Various surviving buildings such as the Hallwyl moated castle, the Brestenberg castle hotel, the striking Reformed church and the ‘Alte Schmitte’ village museum bear witness to the village's living history.
