**Welcome to Garessio!*

An emerald green valley that conquers you with its waters and privacy. It is for a few connoisseurs, who love simple things, from cooking to feelings, to peaks from where you can see the sea even when you go skiing.

We cross the villages following the path of history, which takes us from the slopes of Colle San Bernardo to the Tanaro, along the road traveled by the Roman colonizers, then the Sacarene hordes and, again, Aleramo and Adelasia in their elopement.
But the caves and engraved stones tell us about people who populated our area already thousands of years ago.
In its villages, the town still preserves splendid architectural evidence of the value of past centuries: the medieval complex of Borgo Maggiore, with the remains of the castle and walls, the confraternity and the baptistery of San Giovanni; the churches and sanctuary of Valsorda; the decorations and portals of the Poggiolo houses; the characteristic buildings and the bridge which gives its name to the liveliest village, the economic and commercial heart straddling the Tanaro.
Not far away, we find another piece of monastic and Savoy history, preserved in the Certosa and in the Castle of Casotto.
And the green setting of a unique landscape further enhances the picture of the beauties of Garessio.
