With the cable car you can be in another world in just 8 minutes.

The Rax nature reserve not only offers you an incomparable mountain experience in summer, but more and more guests are also visiting the high plateau in winter.

You will find peace and relaxation here, we offer snowshoe hikers and tourers an easily accessible destination with incredible qualities. It's not the lifts and the noise that dominate the mountain here, no - the crunching of the snow under your poles and snowshoes takes you completely out of the stress of everyday life. The Rax is ideal, especially if you only have a few hours of time. Finally nature! Simply wonderful - wonderfully easy snowshoe hiking on the Rax!

All you need are high hiking boots suitable for winter and clothing suitable for the weather. You can rent snowshoes and poles at the mountain station of the Rax cable car or book them online at a discount with your cable car ticket - and off you go. Three marked routes start from the mountain inn of the Rax cable car. You can get information material directly at the mountain station. You can hike along the marked route to the Ottohaus shelter and treat yourself to a well-deserved refreshment (only open on weekends and public holidays when the weather is good).
