Лыжный район Javornik

The ski slope Javornik is located only half an hour from the town bustle of Ajdovščina on the hillsides of Javornik (1242 m altitude) and the forest Trnovski gozd.

With the purpose of preserving and continuing the skiing tradition in the area of Črni Vrh we began with the realisation of the idea of building a ski slope in the presented location in 1995. The ski slope has in these years been constantly upgraded and equipped thus shaping its current image.

The priorities of the ski slope are a favourable geographical position (near major towns), climatic conditions (altitude and duration of snow cover) and the configuration of the ski fields (suitable for beginners and the most demanding skiers).

A beautiful view is opened from the Trieste Bay in the southwest through the Julian Alps with the highest Mountain in Slovenia Triglav and the Karavanke mountains in the north, the Kamnik Alps in the northeast and the forest of the region Notranjska with the mountain Snežnik in the southeast.
