The Gitschtal is a Carinthian paradise, situated at 820 m above sea level, with the main village Weißbriach and the recreation villages St. Lorenzen/G., Jadersdorf and Lassendorf. A true insider tip for those looking for peace and active holidays! Unique in its landscape, rustic in its people – one of the most charming valleys in southern Austria. The family ski area Weißbriach includes 4 km of slopes, a practice field with children’s lift, a magic carpet (approx. 50 m) and 3 T-bar lifts – small but delightful. Yet everything is available: ski school, ski rental, après-ski fun, etc. The ideal family ski area! From the parking lot straight onto the slopes!

Both cross-country skiers and leisure ski tourers can look forward to more than 40 km of perfectly groomed double-track trails (including skating tracks). For those who like a bit of thrill, the illuminated Berggeist toboggan run offers a real adventure. Just a few minutes by car lies Lake Weißensee, Europe’s largest natural ice surface, and in St. Lorenzen/G. there’s also an ice rink for young and old. The riding stable offers everything a rider’s heart desires, and those seeking relaxation will find in the Kurhotel Weißbriach a 18 m indoor pool, sauna, therapy facilities and much more.
