The marked route gives visitors the opportunity to trace the history of Ramsbeck mining along a hiking trail. The technical processes of ore mining, processing, and smelting can be learned. At each notable point, a total of 38 information stands and panels are set up. They inform with text and images or explain still existing monuments, buildings, tunnels, areas, and relics.
The hiking trail starts at the Mining Museum and covers a total distance of about 10 km. Numerous benches and tables invite you to rest. You can also hike three partial sections (see map). All routes pass through the center of Ramsbeck. In the Werdern area there are two sections that offer an addition. The path near the waste heaps for processing (Willibald) can only be officially designated later. The reason is that work by the former mine operator is still ongoing.
We wish you much fun, joy, and new insights into mining in general and especially into the history of Ramsbeck's mining in past years.

Hiking maps are available at the ticket office of the "Sauerländer Show Mine". There is also a route description in "German" and "Dutch" for €2.50.
The starting point of the hike is located directly opposite the museum. From there, follow the signs for the "Mining Trail". The path is very well marked.
Да
Good footwear is recommended, as the path partly leads over spoil heaps. Unfortunately, the support association and the landowners cannot assume any liability.
Ice can occur in winter. The country road (Bestwig - Fredeburg) is crossed at two points. Short sections are relatively steep. A rescue point system is installed in the Hochsauerlandkreis. You can find rescue points among others on the information boards at the junctions and on hiking signage.
Take the A44 motorway Dortmund/Kassel to the Arnsberg exit, then the A445 to Arnsberg and then the A46 to Bestwig. At the Bestwig motorway exit turn left to the center of Bestwig, then turn right towards Ramsbeck, after about 7.5 kilometers turn right and follow the signs to the Ramsbeck show mine. The large winding tower at the show mine will show you the way.
Public transport: By train to Bestwig, then by bus to Ramsbeck. Stop directly at the mining museum or at the "Gasthof Kleine". From there it is a 3-minute walk to the museum.
Free parking directly at the museum.
