Val Casies: cross-country paradise in South Tyrol

The idyllic Casies Valley is a true insider's tip for fans of Nordic skiing! The wide, sunny valley basin is ideal for enjoying the more than 42 km of cross-country tracks. The track leads through an enchanting winter landscape, over snow-covered fields, through romantic forests, past picturesque farmhouses and guesthouses directly at the slope, which await you for a cup of hot tea or mulled wine or a light dish. The track to the end of the valley to S. Maddalena is rather challenging, but once you arrive, you will be rewarded with a splendid view of the valley and a nice break on the sun terrace.

Afterwards you enjoy a light downhill route out of the valley, always on a wide and perfectly groomed track. Be it for skaters or classic style skiers, the track in Val Casies offers space for everybody. In case of good snow conditions you can reach the villages Tesido and Monguelfo on skis; from here you enjoy the connection track of the Puster Valley ski marathon track.

The Gsieser Tal Lauf Race of 30 km and 42 km classic and skating is a highlight in the Val Casies - Monguelfo - Tesido cross-country skiing resort. Everybody who loves cross-country skiing can participate - children too. The race is also valid for the Euroloppet series "Gran Fondo Mastertour" and the "Italian Ranking".
