Schröcken's natural jewel, the Körbersee, at 1,656 meters above sea level, is ideal for nature lovers. The lake and the homonymous mountain hotel are only accessible on foot or on skis in winter, as this protected area is located in the midst of the ski and hiking area. In 2017, the Körbersee was voted the most beautiful place in Austria in the ORF success show "9 Places 9 Treasures."

The Körbersee can be reached from several directions:

The hike from Schröcken passes by natural attractions such as the glacial mill and the alpine museum "uf'm Tannberg". It takes about 1.5 hours from the center of Schröcken to reach the Körbersee.

From the district of Nesslegg/Schröcken, the Körbersee can be reached in about 45 minutes via a hiking trail with magnificent views.

Additionally, there is an easy route, also suitable for strollers, starting from the Sun Plateau Hochtannbergpass, passing by Lake Kalbelesee, and reaching the Körbersee in 45 minutes.

Starting from Warth, it is recommended to take the Steffisalp Express summer cable car, passing through the Walser settlement of Bürstegg and through the picturesque Auenfeld to the Körbersee in about 3 hours.

Also from Lech, a beautiful path leads through the sunny Auenfeld and takes about 3 hours to reach the Körbersee.
