This place is an essential part of the history of bobsleigh, in which bobsleigh histories were written here, as the legendary Olympic Bobsleigh Run at Lake Riessersee was considered as one of the most dangerous runs. The bobsledders used to speed down the run at 120 km/h. They were exceedingly courageous chaps. Spectacular accidents were in no way unusual in the twisty run. The run hosted various Bavarian, German, European and Word Championships as well as the bobsleigh competitions of the 1936 Winter Olympics.

Nowadays, the famous run is a protected monument. It has become a year-round attraction for hikers and sports fans. With sturdy footwear, it is easy to hike through the run. Alternatively, you might participate in a guided tour. Only 350 metres from the finish, you will see the bob shed where 17 historic bobsleighs and further interesting exhibits are on display. Original footage brings back the atmosphere of bygone sports events.

Normally, tours take place each Wednesday from 2 pm to 4 pm. The tours are free.
