At the highest point of the Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park lies the Rosalia Chapel, today's starting point of the hike.
Enjoy the most beautiful panoramic view over the entire Rosalia-Kogelberg Nature Park and far beyond, put your backpack on and get going. On shady forest paths and sunlit clearings surrounded by the gentle rustling of leaves, the melodious song of birds, and the earthy scent of the forest, you hike toward your goal. At Schöderl - the hill between Sieggraben and Schwarzenbach - the Landseer Berge Nature Park welcomes you with a wonderful view of the Bucklige Welt.
It is not far now to the Celtic village (archaeological open-air museum) with observation tower, from which you can see the Rax and Schneeberg on one side and Oberpullendorf and Pauliberg on the other. This archaeological open-air museum, consisting of 9 buildings, provides insights into the daily life of the Iron Age population. The path to it is well signposted. Refreshments are available at the cozy tower cafe. The return route can be chosen via the Eulenweg. You march down to Sieggraben, then towards Sieggrabener Kogel, past the sports field under the expressway bridge, along the Auwiesenbach towards Schwarzkogel, and back to Rosalia.
It is a hike like many before in one of the most beautiful regions of Burgenland. And yet this time, it's different! The voices and the unmistakable scent of the forest, the singing of birds, the sun’s rays on your skin, and the quiet are felt even more intensely here.
The hike starts at the summit of Heuberg near the Rosalia Chapel with the most beautiful view of Burgenland. You hike down from the chapel. On the right-hand side, it continues along the state road up to the end of the Rosalia houses, the border to the Bucklige Welt. At the turning point, you turn left into the Burgenland long-distance hiking trail - yellow-red marking. On shady forest paths and sunlit clearings, you pass Hartlspitz and Schwarzkogel towards Marriegel and Sieggrabener Kogel to the Schöderl near Schwarzenbach. There, follow the signs to the Celtic village, open-air museum, and observation tower. The return path of the circular hike leads you via the Eulenweg. You walk down to Sieggraben, then head towards Sieggrabener Kogel, pass under the expressway overpass, and along the Auwiesenbach back towards Schwarzkogel and to Rosalia.
You mostly walk on good natural paths and a small section of asphalt.
