Just before he was on his way to the Nine Knights Session, Christof Schenk had paid a visit to the Snowpark Alta Badia. In the course of the VIP-Procoaching, the 23-year-old freeski pro took five lucky freeskiers with him to boost their shred skills. See the boys’ progress and everything else that went down in our recap, the photo gallery and the video!

Double Cork, Triple Cork, Misty, Flatspin... Christof Schenk’s bag of tricks is huge. There’s hardly any trick that the freeskier from South Tyrol hasn’t mastered. At the coaching session on the 19th of March at the Snowpark Alta Badia, it was his duty to convey his skills to a couple of up-and-coming riders. During the first gondola ride the freeskiers were already getting their first tips from the pro. When they arrived at the top, they were facing glorious weather and a perfectly shaped park – the perfect conditions for an amazing shred fest.

At the jib session during the morning the riders were already impressed by Mr. Schenk with his great variety of spins on several obstacles. Highly motivated by his moves, the participants also started nailing their first tricks. The freeski pro was full of praise, “The participants’ skill level is already quite advanced and they all know how to pull of various technical tricks!” Since Christof didn’t have to teach them the basics, they promptly started practicing some rather advanced tricks. The successful slopestyle and big air rider also shared his contest experience with the participants and emphasized the importance of nailing your moves as smoothly as possible. The riders certainly took this tip to their hearts and at the end of the session the five of them were stomping numerous stylish rail tricks. Nico Waldhauser, the winner of the qualification round of the voting, sums up the session as follows: “I’m really happy with the results of the coaching. Thanks to Christof’s support I’m able to land some really cool new rail tricks. It’s great to get helpful advice from an experienced rider like him.”

To be well prepared for the kicker session in the afternoon, all of the participants of the VIP-Procoaching and the QParks Media crew took some time off and had a tasty meal at the Ciampai Lodge where they got to know the pro even better. The break was followed by some massive airtime! Christof was the first to enter the 3-kickers medium line. The other riders didn’t hesitate too long until they joined him. Quite soon it became clear that the advanced line would have been the better choice to fit the riders’ skill level, though. That’s why they continued practicing their grabs and landings on the bigger kickers. Christof’s vast contest know-how was very helpful – due to his tips the young riders managed to really push their kicker skills.

At the end of the day, the participants were as excited as the coach himself. Once again it was proven, how effective the tips and tricks by a proper pro are when applied directly and consequently in such a session among shred buddies! Additionally, the motivated freeskiers also received some cool goodies, the perfect way to end an incredible day of shredding at the Snowpark Alta Badia.
